FedFinder.org: a national directory that connects people to their local Jewish Federation
We designed and built an independent, map-based guide to Jewish Federations across the US and Canada — location search, a daily-updated events calendar, local community guides, and an open-data tool on Federation finances.

- 125+
- Federation calendars read daily
- 110+
- cities & regions covered
- $3.1B
- in public filings, searchable
Where they started.
Jewish Federations do enormous work locally, but for someone new to an area — or just trying to get involved — there was no single, independent place to find the Federation that serves them, see what's happening this week, and understand how it all works. The information was scattered across a hundred-plus separate Federation sites, calendars, and filings.
What we did.
- 01Designed and built a map-based directory that pinpoints the Federation serving any US ZIP code or Canadian city, with location search and a browsable map of every Federation.
- 02Built an events engine that reads calendars from 125+ Federations daily and surfaces local programs by city, category, and audience.
- 03Published plain-English community guides and a researcher-grade open-data tool — Federation revenue, spending, and assets pulled from IRS 990 and CRA filings, each figure linked to its source.
- 04Laid programmatic-SEO foundations with per-city and per-topic pages so people searching for Jewish community in their area land on the right guide.
What changed.
FedFinder launched as an independent, trusted front door to Jewish Federation life across the US and Canada — one place to find your Federation, discover local events pulled daily from 125+ community calendars, and explore the finances of 174 of 184 publicly filing Federations. What used to mean hunting across dozens of sites now takes one search.
